Permalink Or PATHINFO

Let see some permalink and pathinfo example :

- http://example.com/category/ post-name/ –> permalink structure

- http://example.com/index.php/ category/post-name/ –> pathinfo structure

The different is :

For the pathinfo structure, it embedded with index.php after domain name, more longer than permalink structure. But pathinfo structure is always work with all configuration, it doesn’t require mod_rewrite functionality or change to htaccess file.

Is this work fine with search engine and human ?

I’m sure that search engine will work great with pathinfo structure.

” Otherwise, they are the same as the “pretty” mod_rewrite permalinks, and are similarly flexible. Anything that mod_rewrite permalinks can do, PATHINFO permalinks can do, with the help of that /index.php part ” WordPress said.

For human, i find that there are two most methods to accessing our URL :

- Direct accessing to our URL, they are simply typing our domain name like www.domainname.com, and then follow our link.

- From search engine, after typing any keyword then follow the link from search engine result page, they’re always ignore how long or how complex the link that searh engine shown.

With some condition that people typing our complete link, i’m sure that this man is an advanced one, so don’t worry.
